Narrative of Objectives Achieved: The Shiprock Home for Women & Children, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, solicited and retained RJN to provide design-build, construction management and general contracting services for the development of a new 22,022 sf domestic violence shelter located in Shiprock, NM. The four-phase project included new construction of a temporary facility, off-site, to maintain service capability of the Owner; abatement and demolition of the old facility; as well as, a two-phase vertical construction plan in accordance with project grantor provisions. Phases I, II, and III are complete. The total project is approximately 80% complete awaiting Phase IV fund obligations to the project.

The design-build project facility was developed utilizing traditional Navajo element and serves as a Veterans’ Resource Assistance Center and a memorial for the many Navajo military personnel who gave their lives in the line of duty. RJN Construction Management, Inc. was awarded the “Best of Service Award” by the State of New Mexico AML Program for timeliness of completion and overall grantor satisfaction with the construction process.
